The Second Annual DeliberatePixel Charity Drive is here to help buy video games, toys, and books for children in Akron Children's Hospital through Child's Play Charity. By creating my own drive, I'm hoping to make it even easier and more inexpensive for people to pitch in for the cause. Basically, you can donate whatever you can afford (even a dollar helps), and I'll do all the work. How simple is that?

How It Works
The charity efforts are already set up through Amazon, with separate wish lists for various hospitals. I've chosen to donate to Akron Children's Hospital simply because it's the closest to me. I will collect the money, purchase the items on Amazon, and they will be shipped directly to the hospital.
I can accept donations until December 15. You can donate online via the PayPal button on the left. I also have an account set up through Google Checkout, but unfortunately they won't allow me to accept donations as an individual - so if you would like to donate via Google Checkout, please email me with the amount you wish to donate, and I will help set it up for you. If you would prefer not to donate online, please just contact me and I'll send you my mailing address for checks or discrete cash.
I'll display on this page a running total of the donations received. If you would like me to list your name as a donor with a link to your own site or email, just let me know - but of course I will not post anyone's information without his or her consent.
Also displayed on this page will be a poll of selected items from Akron Children's Hospital's wish list. Vote for the items you want the funds collected to purchase, and the winner/s will be what I order and ship to the hospital.

Child's Play Charity was launched by the folks at Penny Arcade in 2003, and to date have collected millions of dollars in video games and other items to benefit hospitalized children across the world. Read more at childsplaycharity.com.

I begun my own drive to benefit Child's Play Charity last year, as a way for me and my friends and family to all chip in together on a charity effort for the holiday season. Through everyone's generosity, I was able to send some books and DVDs to Akron. I'd love to do even more this year.
